Our company is looking for a motivated individual to be the liaison between our business and the customer. We are looking for someone who can take over the day to day operation of our service department. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing professional with farm, lawn and garden knowledge.
Someone who can maintain accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation with the dealership. Must be able to assure us that all charges related to work orders are posted properly and closed on a timely basis. MUST be able to process warranty and product improvement claims.
You must conduct yourself in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company, while maintain a high level of customer service and customer satisfaction. This is critical to your success in this role.
1. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
*Manage other service department employees
*Open work orders and maintain control until closed and invoiced
*Handle repair order changes, warranty validation and claims coverages including computation of charges, submission and follow-up
*Maintain the service library with information that is current
*Take in new equipment, put away owners manual and keys
*Files, bulletins, manuals, video tapes, etc.
*Keep office cleaned and neatly organized
*Maintain a clean and safe work area and care for shop tools and equipment assigned to the technician
*Account for all the time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties
*Ability to safely operate all equipment sold by the dealership
*Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
*Handle service department filing and records
*Update customer profiles using equipment, hours or other information from the customer work order
*Maintain accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders
*Maintain customer rapport by explaining cost, repairs expected time of repairs, track those said repairs and communicate clearly to the customer
*Completes other duties as assigned
2. Customer Service:
*Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns
*Be aware of and track “comebacks” and make sure the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
*Greet customers immediately and in a courteous manner
*Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices

4. Qualifications and Job Requirements:
*Must have outgoing, friendly personality and superior communication & customer service skills
*Experience working in a service department IS A MUST with a 3-5 year minimum required
*Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence
*Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution
*Knowledge and experience or demonstrate the ability and desire to learn about our complete line of equipment
*Experience with common dealership or point of sale computer systems
*Good computer skills
*Knowledge of office procedures
*Good organizational ability
*General understanding of mechanical/technical terms
*High school diploma or GED equivalent
*Maintain a safe work environment
5. Physical Demands:
*The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
*Requires the use of both hands
*Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift heavy items
*Frequently requires the ability to balance and push heavy items
6. Working Conditions:
*Frequently works near moving mechanical parts
*Potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards
*Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles
